What is Mindset

Mindset is a “way of thinking” which is the habitual or characteristic attitude that determines how an individual will interpret and respond to a situation. In short, Mindset is a ‘frame of mind’ or mental inclination.

Types of Mindset

There are two types of Mindsets:
A.Fixed mindset
B.Growth Mindset

Fixed mindset person believes basic qualities like intelligence or talent are simply fixed traits. They also believe that talent alone creates success – without effort.

Someone with fixed mindset is likely to be-
•Avoiding challenges
•Not able to deal very well with setbacks
•Try to hide their mistakes
•Believe that their abilities are limited to one area.
•Engage in negative self talk by saying things like ,’ I can’t do it’

Growth mindset person believes that the most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work- brain and talent are just starting points.
This view creates a love of learning. Virtually all great people have/had these qualities.
A Growth Mindset creates motivation and productivity in the world of business, education and sports.
It enhances relationships. It also helps to unleash your potential.

Someone with growth mindset is likely to:
•Welcome challenges and new things.
•Learn from people around them
•Understand that in order to get what they want, they’ve to work hard.
•Recognize failure as an opportunity to learn.
•Acknowledge their own weakness and focus on improving them.


There are a few points which will help you to know that it’s time to change your mindset.

1.Constantly focusing on what’s wrong.
2.Mourn on failure but forget to celebrate victories.
3.Don’t want to face the truth.
4. Feel angry when expectations are not met.
5.Feel unsatisfied and unhappy with everything you have or don’t have.
6.See yourself as a victim.
