its file name is image-4.png\" width=\"421\" height=\"157\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Here A is the domain of f and B is the co-domain of f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Surjective function (Onto-Mapping)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A mapping f: X \u2192 Y said to be onto-mapping if the range set <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/KogEHuAp0l4COZDa3sX08WkuaHjLdiMhjdOYdfXFZ0iIR2ezauuJ5TZQNe6BuZ39ZU8sHDgc8NgRPfsqd3giZAd0GplE82zQk-FEcixzusNyaZzQ6o5wkL-UJuEXnMlKf6M-vMwR\" width=\"49\" height=\"23\">.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If&nbsp; is a function such that every element of X is mapped onto itself then f is said to be an identity mapping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We denote identity mapping by <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/C-3OLa74AMkhLi5Ano6ceVYS-EGQkDLRq3LDUXvo9-6dV9K0gXYyiqunERZHrU39cemgyzgS91QiuhGKVp8CP6J5g4t-LGM7sVt5fwU3X77noQbXed7EqZ9jM_uiPl83OU3DlLkO\" width=\"60\" height=\"21\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/KJe8riirSxQXfeJkd1D1qBe6wfgvXZGVuqbc86Yo_B-JulfmeOv1XPvPCWJnsAzrNA1tH3kzSH6HeADPQLr_ctk84uBK_uKpx947Li8KeFp2e_Sv5RtjqnjjLtAeMO9KAEIPbRdq\" width=\"204\" height=\"20\">is an identity mapping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Partial functions-<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let X and Y be sets and A be a subset of X. A function f from A to Y is called a partial func. from X to Y.
