Uplink (i.e. from mobile station to base station). Downlink (i.e. from base station to mobile station) uses frequency bands like. Uplink and downlink with frequencies mentioned below :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td>Uplink<\/td><td>890.2 MHz, 915 MHz<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Downlink<\/td><td>935.2 MHz to 960 MHz<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) is will be as written below with the help of one relation <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>f<sub>d<\/sub>&nbsp; = f<sub>u<\/sub> + 45 MHz<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For Example :<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If UL frequency is :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>f<sub>u<\/sub> = 890 MHz + n\u2219 0. 2 MHz<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>f<sub>d<\/sub> = 935 MHz + n \u2219 0. 2 MHz<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fixed assigned frequency makes scheme very inflexible limits to no. of sender turn into disadvantage of FDMA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Advantages of FDMA<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These systems require a low bit rate. Hence, they offer few advantages&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There is low inter symbol interference (ISI). Therefore, it reduces the cost.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is not necessary to have equalization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The implementation is easy. A system can be easily made which provides improvements in terms of speech encoders and also the bit rate is reduced.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The number of bits required for synchronization and framing are less as the transmission is continuous.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Disadvantages <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are few disadvantages of this technique listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We need to improve the capacity signal to interference reduction or SNR.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>But also the maximum flow rate per channel is fixed and small.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The cost of implementation is more as hardware requires narrowband filters. Because of which they cannot be realized using VLSI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The channel capacity is reduced because of the guard bands.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hardware implies narrowband filters, which cannot be realized in VLSI and therefore increases the cost.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Interested in learning about similar topics?
