Due to this it can be used instead of FDMA. It is also known as Time Division <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Channel_access_method\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Multiple Access<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In this time slot allocated to users is non- overlapping.<\/li><li>&nbsp;The entire user shares single frequency.<\/li><li>&nbsp;The data transmission is in bursts instead of continuous.<\/li><li>&nbsp;No need to use duplexers as there are different time slots for different transmissions.<\/li><li>&nbsp;The bandwidth supply is on demand basis.  We can use by reassigning the time slot.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It is based on time slots. TDMA is more flexible than FDMA scheme. &nbsp;To have synchronization in communication Dynamic allocation of channels or by some fixed pattern channels are allotted for time slots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"250\" height=\"199\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/xfS-3eNJ98NAaloKFLEL0HQ8P1X7JbZFNvbYH2d6dijI1dRDwVGGx1P4g-wo5oZKWBQhjBPWTejf4EZ4rHnUP2gcrOv_RWfsb3VntS9w4BwNik9WYOmgU_mpOwqe7Oi8z2UuN6xt\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fixed channels are allocated for communication as a best practice.  As it is seen that for wireless phone systems in Medium Access Control (MAC) reserved time slot access is crucial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Advantages of TDMA<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The main advantages of this technique are<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>TDMA also permits flexible rates.<\/li><li>Then Frame by frame we can change the number of users. Therefore, it can persist variable bit rate traffic. <\/li><li>Wideband systems do not require guard bands.<\/li><li>Due to which there is no need for a narrowband filter.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Disadvantages <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The few disadvantages of this technique are as follow <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>For high data rates of broadband system requires complex equalization.<\/li><li>It requires large number of bits for synchronization and supervision due to burst mode.<\/li><li>Due to clock instability it requires call time in each slot in order to accommodate time inaccuracies.<\/li><li>So the energy consumption increases at high bit rates.<\/li><li>It requires complex signal processing for synchronization in short slots.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>First application of this technique was in satellite communication.
