For e.g. Konkan rivers like Surya, Savitry, Vashishti etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Their utility is lesser than the rivers in North India like Ganga, Yamuna, Brahmaputra etc. They are long, wide and have higher economic values than small rivers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The rivers have a lot of economic utility like hydroelectricity generation, Irrigation, Industrial and domestic utilization etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Different Stages of a River:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There are various stages of a river when it flows from its origin in a mountainous area to a sea.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are mainly four stages through which river flows from mountain to sea.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Four stages are as follows:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rocky stage or mountainous stage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Boulder stage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trough and alluvial stage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deltaic stage<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Rocky stage and mountainous stage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is also known as hilly stage of river.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is the first stage of river started from the mountain and flow through hilly area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In this step, the river flows with very steep slopes and hence velocity of water is ultimate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Boulder stage of river:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The second stage of river is boulder stage in which the river flows from rocky stage to the boulder stage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This stage contains the large boulders, gravels and shingles with flows.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In such stage, the bed slope is very steep and velocity is more but less than the velocity in rocky stage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Trough and alluvial stage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is the third stage of river in which it flows in zig-zag way.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When the river flows in zig-zag manner, then it is termed as meandering river.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Deltaic stage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is the last stage of river prior to go into the sea.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When the river split up into a small branches and forms the shape of delta, then it is called as deltaic stage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In last stage, river split up into small branches and forms a delta.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Interested in learning about similar topics?
