Additionally, This is referring as an ordered binary tree. The value of all nodes in the left sub-tree is less than the value of the root in a binary search tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, the value of all nodes in the right subtree is larger than or equal to the root&#8217;s value. This rule will applied recursively to all of the root&#8217;s left and right subtrees. As a result, BST separates all of its sub-trees into two segments: the left and right subtrees, and can be characterise as<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>left_subtree (keys) &lt; node (key) \u2264 right_subtree (keys)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Binary Search Tree Visualized\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cv_KDQzZpHs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Advantages<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In a BST, searching becomes incredibly efficient since we get a hint at each step about which sub-tree has the sought element.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In comparison to arrays and linked lists, the binary search tree is a more efficient data structure. Every stage of the search procedure destroys half of the sub-tree. Furthermore, In a binary search tree, searching for an element takes o(log2n) time. In the worst-case scenario, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meridianpint.com\/touchless-menu\/\">https:\/\/www.meridianpint.com\/touchless-menu\/<\/a> searching for an element takes no time at all (n).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It also speeds up insertion and deletion processes as compared to arrays and linked lists.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Operations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Search<\/strong>\u00a0 &#8211; Looks for a specific element in a tree.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Insert<\/strong>\u00a0 &#8211; Adds a new element to a tree.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pre &#8211; order traversal<\/strong> &#8211; Pre-orders the traversal of a tree.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Post &#8211; order traversal <\/strong>&#8211; Traverses a tree in a logical order.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>In &#8211; order traversal<\/strong> &#8211; In a post-order fashion, traverses a tree.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Interested in learning about similar topics?
