Stepper Motor is a DC motor which rotates in steps. After the electrical signal is fed to the motor, it starts to rotate in steps. The speed of the motor is dependent on the rate of input signal applied. Then the input applied to the motor decides the direction of rotation of the motor, moreover rotor is a permanent magnet which rotates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When rotor is in the center which is surrounded by stator windings which are four pole windings. The center tap on the stator winding allows the current in the coil to change direction when the winding is grounded. The stepping motion of the motor is due to the magnetic property of the stator which keeps on changing by either attracting or repelling the rotor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step Sequence<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then the step sequence gives voltage which is applied to the stator phase. Also it is a four-step sequence. The CW rotation is obtained when sequence from step 1-4 is followed and we get ACW rotation when the sequence is from 4-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications<\/strong> of Stepper Motor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1)\u00a0 \u00a0 For example in automotive gauges and machine tooling automated production equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2)\u00a0 \u00a0 They are also used surveillance for security industry<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3)    Used in scanners, in digital dental photography<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4)    Used in fluid pumps<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5)    In welding equipment and textile machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
